I've gathered some of the main recurrent riffs and chord progressions in DT's masterpiece Scenes from a Memory

I think it's cool that you've taken the time to do this!

Though I do think it's pointless to point out that Overture 1928 and other songs from the album have similar or same things. After all presenting the different themes of the album is what an overture is for. That's literally what an overture is. A presentation of what's to come.

And starting from around 1:50 the riffs are not the same per se, but pretty close

These are just some thoughts.


What you've done is awesome. Thanks!! You could do more of these, dig out the influences and similarities behind DT songs! You'd get a ton of YouTube hits!

My aim was not to reveal anything but to make re-usable riffs easier to identify ;)

I've written that in 1999 and should edit it now, i've learned a few more things listening to Jordan's albums !
