influenced by does not mean sounds like ...

Also, I don't know what makes a band worthwhile for you ... is it about career, is it about fun, songwriting, style? etc.

I'd say give em a listen, or sit in on a practice & see what you think. ... I've always felt like CoB could be so much more...

I think you mean Children Of Bodom? And it has nothing to do with Jens...

i think as mlunapiena01 said
u really got to just go and have a listen to them
and as well as the music if u like the guys
like if its a fun thing, not really worth it if there dicks lol

and i spose CoB influenced means in reality your not going have to have Jen style keyboarding, im guessing? more so it would be a death metal band with room for some sweet melodic keyboard leads
and i guess leaning over to the power metal type leads if its bodom influenced

as apposed to if it was a dark tranquility influenced, it would be a darker atmosphere

my thoughts on the matter

What I think is that you could do whatever you want within that band if they let you arrange your parts as you like. You could easily add your own influences to the "CoB" style and take it to another level.

So if the guys are cool, the music is great, go for it, it never hurt to play :)

And if you do, let us ear what might comes out of that band !
