Erh, it depends. If the setup's never going to leave the house, and you'll be mixing songs there (which is pretty likely), i'd go with something like a Digidesign mBox (I use a v2 Mini) and (strangely enough) some Alesis Monitor Ones - I like the sound of them, you might not. There are dozens of equivalent monitors - just gotta get yourself a copy or two of Sound on Sound to see what's what.
