Default Jordan's Chromatic Scale

Hey. So on Jordan's webpage around Christmas, I checked and there was a site that had a bunch of short videos he had from touring and such. One video should his incredibly fast playing of the chromatic scale. Does any have this video clip, or know where to get it? I've some piano-playing friends/profs that would love to see that. Thanks!

Doesn't the wizzard's log have an archive? If it does, search it. If not, do an emule search...

Ok ive sent it.

It looks like hes using the same fingering i was taught for chromatics

C-C#-D-D#-E-F-F#-G-G#-A-A#-B-C
but he is playing it super fast. I guess the way everyone will tell you to speed up is just by practicing with the metronome?
That works pretty well i guess, im getting there gradually, but still nowhere near the speed of rudess.

You're right, practising........... but hey, only that gives the worth to your abilties, just imagine everyone could play like JR or someone from this board in just one day.

chromatics are very tough to practice with a metronome just because it's more of a sweeping motion of the arm than anything...depending on the piece you are playing, it is good to use the metronome, however for a straight chromatic scale up the keyboard, you just have to do a large pull motion with your arm and pull your fingers.

what I do is usually hit a C and then a beat later (or click later on the metronome), I hit the C octave above it and then on the next click do a chromatic scale from C to C so that all the notes in between the two Cs fall between the clicking on the metronome...it gets you to focus on having your scale be one large sweeping motion rather than individualized finger motion...eventually for large scale sweeps like Jordan does you just to keep thinking in long motions and work it up...eventually when you pull your arm like that your fingers will responsd togheter and move without you having to think "okay 1 3 1 3 1 2 3 1 3 1 3...etc" pretty soon it'll just be one giant motion.
