Elektron Monomachine

Hi guys,

has anyone tried the Elektron Monomachine yet?

http://www.elektron.se/

They look very interesting, perhaps they could generate some interesting lead sounds and solo stuff. The mp3 on the site are more into electronic music, so I can't compare it.

I was checking out the Monomachine in detail about a year ago (SoundOnSound magazine did a great detailed review of it). I was most interested in it because it has basically a SidStation inside it, I've always wanted one of those.

I'm not sure it would be a great synth to get you screaming distorted prog lead sounds, but I'm sure you could get some awesome electronic synthy sounds out of it!

Ergonomically it's really neat too, I kind of liked the long, thin design.

I could scan an article of the German Keyboards Magazine for you if you like.
I think for leads, it's a waste of money in my opinion, since it's clearly aimed at sequencer orientated stuff so that you can use all the 6 voices.
Not that this baby sounds bad!

For that money, you could get a nice Nordlead or Q, or even a Minimoog with some luck. Better for leads & rock stuff in my opinion :)

In this case you don't have to dothe work to scan it - but thanks a lot for the offer and the replies!

It's just that I liked the design and tried to find a reason to buy it (well.. to "think of buying" it) ;-)

Anybody else feels the design looks VERY similar to AKAI MPC series samplers? i'm really feeling deja vu here :)

It looks like a cool toy though!

It kinda does, but to me it seems "colder", all metal buttons instead of soft cushy rubber pads :) And that oh-so-cold looking pitch bender! :O
