Hi,
I was wondering if there's software available for the K2500.
I'm looking for something to organise setups.
i.e. I'm playing a different setlist every week and I want to organise everything without going to "edit" and "save" for each setup.
I'm using about 200 setups a night..

easy - Is it per song or how it is organised? Because what you can do is take the setups for each song, *so make the file song based* and then load the SONG setlist each night. When the next night comes up, do a hard reset, and do the same thing.
The hard reset makes sure that there's no "extra" unnessessary data floating around that could somehow cause a crash, as well, it assures that your setups will load properly every night.
There's no software arrangement that I know of, so I'd honestly say that the per-song file thing is probably your best bet.
Another thing you could do to save space is this *although it's a tad more risky*
Save all your sounds, samples and programs. Make sure they're static in your programs location *so if you always use "Argentina Bassorz" make sure it stays in program spot 227 or whatever*
This time, provided you don't use samples, ONLY save the setups. *like, when you hit save, instead of saving the setups and then saving the dependant objects, just save ONLY the setups.*
What this does is assumes that the program locations aren't going to change, but only when you load your setups, they will.
Problem again is that although it's much faster that way, any samples that have to be loaded will have to be loaded seperately, and it's more risky in having a sound that wouldn't work unless you did it right.
I hope that there's something helpful in what I just mentioned :)
WAIT!
I just thought of another idea.
Okay, here's what you can do:
Save a "root file" or something. What it would contain: Programs, Effects, Samples, etc.. But NOT SETUPS. I'll explain in a sec
This is something you would have to load seperately every night, BUT here's how you make it.
Take all the sounds and load them up. Make sure there are no duplicates, so each sound has a location *that would be the same every night*
So you have this as a master file - this file never changes, but if it contains samples, you can simply re-write this every night. So potentially, depending on how many programs your setups use, *you have 200 that you use per night* then we're PROBABLY looking at around 300 programs, some of which like the piano or strings, etc.. will be used over again.
Anyway, you have this master Program list which is loaded every night.
Cool
Then you load your SETUPS which have the setup only locations into your kurz, so the information kept for the setups is very little. All the setups per song would do is point to the programs *in order* and you only need to load setups per song but it'd be MUCH MUCH faster that way.
And the beauty about making the "master" file that has Only the programs and stuff, is when you load it, load it with an Overfill, so the setups from the previous night would be deleted, but still loading the programs and samples to be loaded... Which would leave a blank pallate for you to use the next night for loading the setups.
It would take a bit of work, but it's probably the safest/time/sound effecient way to have a changing setlist per night.
Anyway, hope this helps and if ya need help getting it set up, gimme a shout - you know where to reach me :)
