From Mike Portnoy

Well the response was simply overwhelming...within the first few days, we had over 500 entries!
Although the initial rule was that only the first 20 bands from each country was eligible, in some cases up to 50 bands from each country were considered before making a decision.

There were many factors involved in choosing the bands:
First and foremost was the music (in itself having many variables), but other deciding factors included having previous live experience, professionalism and presentation based on their website or myspace page, and even their taste in music represented by their list of influences or top friends (which helped indicate the type of audience they were trying to reach with their music)...

We wish the best of luck to all the bands that submitted entries and just because you weren't picked doesn't mean you weren't the best or most qualified...(perhaps your entry simply arrived 1 hour later than the last cutoff band)....so keep at it so we can open for you in 20 years!

So here are the lucky winners that will be sharing the stage with us throughout South America:

Hi Jordan, Hi Everybody

My name is Sebastian Hipolito and I´m Fughu's ex vocalist (I've been there since april 2000 to december 2006), one of the Argentine bands who will open for Dream Theater in Buenos Aires.
The Truth is that Fughu used tracks with my voice for this contest, but without my permission.Recently I obtained that they add me in the credits, but I request them to remove the tracks singed by me. Nowdays Fughu have a new vocalist , but he only sings in two tracks of the six on Fughu's myspace (www.myspace.com/fughuweb). The tracks "Ashes","Tanguapo", "Get Me Inside",and "Last Chance" are sung by me and I also composed the Lyrics and vocal melodies of "these tracks exept "Tanguapo".
This was a sad surprise for me,because before this contest they were promoting they new songs singed by the new vocalist.
As you can imagine i have tests of everything I say so I will do anything I can to force them to remove the tracks that have my voice.I have requested Fughu but they didn't answer. So they leave me no option to do it with lawyers.
I won't let them to steal my work and do what they want with it.

Thanks for understanding me

Sebastian Hipolito

+1
The singer's voice resembles a famous singer's. I'm so irritated because I can't remember who it is.
