I watched the Metropolis one...good stuff, though I couldn't make out where you were at (I could hardly see anyone but the drummer actually). The bass solo sounded like mush but the rest was good. Keep it up. :)

A lot of it was accurate, I think the sound on the video doesn't do it justice...but it's tough to hear when the sound from the stage is so off balance, I could barely hear the keys.

Hmm... yes, it would be cool to hear a version with better sound, but as far as I could make out from this one, I'm afraid it needs A LOT of more practice.

Is it intentional, that you didn't play the unison in unison? It sounded like the keyboards were playing a completely different line.

I hope that I am not being too harsh here.. try and get a version done with improved soundquality to give your playing justice. :wink:

On your part, pretty good! your drummer's really good too. You changed some of the licks a bit but played it mostly right and well. however I dont think your guitarist is too good, well at least at playing dt. he really butchered petrucci's solos and seemed to be the reason you guys were getting out of time so much, overture would have been fine if not for him. the guitar solo in metro sounded particularily bad, it was painful to listen to. he should have simplified it or even changed it if he couldnt play it, but it seems like you guys (mostly him) were shooting too high by covering that. Hell it really wouldnt matter if he got up there and play mary had a little lamb for the solo, that wouldnt have fucked up the rest of the band :). I mean its good to see bands even trying it, and hell who am I to talk, but in my honest opinion I dont think id want to listen to your covers again, and the reason behind that is pretty much cause it pains me to hear petrucci's solos done so poorly. its perfectly fine if you cant play petrucci's solos and stuff, DT is some hard music, that doesnt make you a shitty guitarist, and I mean this guy might pretty good, but all I hear are those solos that are just really bad versions, and make him look pretty bad too

if he was just nervous or something and can normally play those solos fine, i take that back, but as it is, if he is going to be stubbord and play petrucci's solos, and play them like he does, I would say he is the weak link of the band by far. I am just saying this as a music listener

I disagree with most of you here. Very good performance. Not exactly DT, but you know that right? You changed some parts too.

Don't forget this was live. No retakes. The energy sounded good and the crowd seemed to like it. I agree that the guitarist made lots of mistakes but he seemed good to me. Maybe a little sloppy, but his timing was excellent, and he seemed solid enough

Yeah, it wasn't perfect, but it's not like these guys are DT. At least they gave it their all and had the balls to get up there and at least attempt that, which is the only thing anybody could ask.

It might be a good idea to try a few slightly simpler songs though. You guys are talented, but still a bit out of your league with that stuff for now. Work on a few songs that are a little easier but you can play more accurately. After all, technical prowess isn't the most important aspect of music. :wink:

but i will post a new video soon, in a studio while we rehearsal so that the sound and video quality can be better...
