Hi I was wondering does anybody have any kind of good warmups that they do everyday on the piano to build finger strength? I know there are scales that you can do but what kinds? Besides major i mean? And if anybody has any answers for me can you describe the fingering of the scales? I have noticed that there are alot of books out there that cover this subject but i do not read music and i am also blind so unless the fingering is described i would have a hard time reading those. I am also not aware of any cd's or dvd's that show how to do these exercises. One other question i have is about a piano roll that i'm not sure about. I have seen this done before but i am not sure if it is with one hand or two. The thing that i'm trying to do is this... Start with middle C with 1 go to G with 3 go to the next C with 5 and then jump up to the last C i just landed on with my thumb so that last note will sound twice. So i'm wonting to run that all the way down the keyboard like that but would doing something like that require both hands for such a long jump? Oh and any warmups that you guys are getting from the jordan Rudess books would also be appreciated. Sorry for so many questions but i'm not really sure where to go about this hahah. Thanks

I would suggest you get a copy of Jordan Rudess' Keyboard Madness DVD, for it includes exercises for keyboard warmups. Notable exercieses include:

1. Five-finger pattern
2. Inverted five-finger pattern
3. Trills
4. Brahms expansion
5. Short'ning bread
6. Arpeggios
7. A lot more

anyway, since you are blind, you will not really see how JR does these exercises. Just use your ear instead.
