Hello, I am getting a new keyboard
I have a budget of around $1000
I am going to be using it in a progressive rock band and a funk blues band as my only keyboard.
This is my first Workstation, but I am good at computers.
Right now I am looking at either a TR-61 or a MO-6 or Juno-G or anything else in that price range.
Does the Juno-G really have smaller than standard keys??
What keyboard would you recommend for me?

Juno-G
Don't ever get one of the digital Roland Junos - they're just crap. They don't even qualify as professional synthesizers IMO.
I would personally go for the Yamaha - I just tend to prefer their sound over Roland's own.
Having said that, for $1000 you could probably pick up an Alesis Fusion 6HD (possibly even one for second-hand) and still have money to spare for a couple of amps (so you can monitor in stereo, which is important for keyboardists), and possibly even an older rack synth, though the Fusion supports PCM samples. VA subtractive synthesis (which, I might add, sounds absolutely BRILLIANT), FM synthesis, and physical modelling - all in a metal case with a good control surface, and (IMO, though it's subjective), some pretty good feeling keys.

Don't get a MO6. I have a MO8, and basically it's very limited. The sounds (organ, strings) are weak as well. The only good things are the piano sounds, and the guitar sounds. They sound realistic enough.
If you want heavy synth leads, this is not the workstation you're looking for. It's made mainly for electronic dance music, and the likes. I'm definately selling mine soon.
I'll agree with Greybeard up here that the Alesis Fusion is an excellent machine for your task(s).

My preference --
1. Alesis Fusion ...
2. Korg tr
3. Roland juno-g/yamaha mo6 ....
I own a juno-g and have played a tr ... tr is definitely a good machine... but what i can assure is juno-g is not a piece of crap ... it has got some features which neither the tr or the mo has... cant say about other digital junos... but juno-g is quite good.... but fusion beats all else in features.... dunno hoe they manage to sell that board for such a low price.......

Well it's obvious when some people need to send it in three times before they get one that is working
(but when they work, they work "forever")
