Ok the situation is: I have the Mbox, but not the Pro Tools software.

I want to buy the newest Pro Tools 7.4. On the digidesign homepage I can buy a "Full Installation" for 60 euro. But it seems to be a 6.X-7.4 upgrader. Does that mean I have to have Pro Tools 6 installed before installing the 7.4?

Thanks

-Mikael

Well, how can you upgrade from nothing?

Hm... ProTools 7.4 (the big one) doesn't work with the M-Box, its only compatible with ProTools LE 7.4. If you bought the M-Box used, the seller should give the installation CD to you, that was sold with the M-Box, 'cause PT LE is included. If he didn't, the M-Box is a normal USB audio card, compatible with any recording software. But PT only accepts Digidesign hardware and hardware of licenced partners (like Apogee), so PT doesn't work without at least the M-Box, but the M-Box works with any other software.

I have a M-Box and ProTools LE 6.7 myself. It's quite convenient, if you work with audio only, but MIDI doesn't work that good... that's the case in the newer versions too (I work with ProTools 7.4 in a studio).

Best regards

EDIT: OK, you solved your problem... posted on the same time :D

I got it from my brother but I lost the installation CD's for mac (Don't ask how!) XD. And yes, i use the LE (Actualy it was the 6.7 version I had:biggrin: ) I work with audio only, so the lack of midi possibilities are not really problem for me.

Thanks!
