High! Im trying to help my girlfriend to save some money by seting her Motif ES to play its own sounds and to be able to control the Evolver aswell and therefore there is no need to buy another midi contorller.

As its not my Motif I was reading the manual to try to figure out how to to that, and she dondt know how to do that neither because she is quite new to all this stuff.

Anyways, I thought it would be possible to set up one performance slot on the MOTIF to lets say MIDI channel 2 and have the Evolver to MIDI channel 2 aswell, and then normally operate the MOTIF in channel 1, without worrying on having the motif sound its internal sounds while controlling the Evolver. But I found out that when I set up the transmit channel to channel 2, it is like a global setting so all voices and performance is set to channel 2. So my plan is useless.

Anyone here has a clue on how to do this? Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Use Master Mode. That's what it's for. Performance mode is just for combining Voices. Master Mode is for combining both internal resources (whether it be a Voice, Performance, or a Sequence), and external resources controlled via MIDI. You'll be able to set a channel for each part (up to 4) and set whether it's transmitted externally or used by the internal sound engine (or both). You can even set the MSB/LSB data in each slot to automate patch changes really easily.
