I am having all kinds of trouble getting sound on my computer through my midi controller. It's a Studiologic VMK-188plus and my computer runs on Vista. The keyboard's connected to the computer through a USB/MIDI interface. I have a program called MIDI-Ox, but I'm getting no sound through it right now and when I do there's major latency problems. All I really know right now is how to plug my interface into my computer and turn the keyboard on. I'm basically starting from scratch so any bit of guidance is most appreciated.

I've plugged my keyboard to a PC few times to control plug-ins, but I don't do this very often... if I remember it right, there are some major mistakes, people make:
If you use USB, you must have some kind of a driver installed, it usually comes with the keyboard on a CD - you can download it from the official brand site also.
In your program, there are also MIDI setting, which you have to adjust - change Midi devices from defaults to your current setup, which is only possible if you have all needed drives installed - otherwise you won't "see" your keyboard in the settings menu.
Also, it's possible that your keyboard has some USB settings too... for instance, mine has USB storage and USB midi mode - you have to pick the right one for you situation... in our case it would be USB midi mode.
And try to read the manual - this type of thing is usually explained very well in the manuals...

did you install the ASIO4all drivers like I mentioned in your other thread?
Also, you've never mentioned - what's your actual sound source? Is it a software synth? Hardware?
