Im a guitarist looking to form a dt style band. I live in the midlands but i have transport and i will travel if i can find someone with talent and dedication.

Im 22 so looking for ppl around that age.Im into the usual prog and metal, mainly DT and opeth (not keen on death vocals mind). Im very dedicated and i think i have some good material to work with. Virtuoso technique would be nice but not a must!

Please get in touch!!

Alex

Hey, I live in Edinburgh. Have had about 14 years keybaord experience. You can here a little sample of my stuff at www.myspace.com/northernfox, though it's a little dated and havent recorded anything in a while, besides the tenori-on stuff I've been doing lately.

cool stuff. think i have a good idea what your into and trying to achieve. We seem to have similar interests music wise.

I have a website with a video of me playing if you want to check it out. Its just an improv jam i did. http://www.alexdoyle.net/audio-video .The video is a couple of years old tho.

Not much else on there yet im afraid but hopefully add more asap. Check it out at let me know what you think.

Impressive playing. I noticed a couple of signature Petrucci arpeggios in there, I'm sure?

Forgot to mention, I'm 19. I severely dislike death metal vocals, probably more than you, and I'll be moving down south for university late this year, but gonna be open to travel more.

thanks. other than the melodies it was improvised so there were probably a few petrucci things in there that ive picked up.

What uni are you going to?? What are you studying?? If it were possible to meet up and jam that would be cool. Its a nightmare to find ppl in DT etc yet alone ones that can play an instrument.

I noticed you have a X8 keyboard, i actually have one too. I cant play that well tho.

I'm currently doing a Diploma in Music Performance and Composition, moving to Hertfordshire to do a Degree in the same subject.

I know it's difficult enough to find people interested in progressive music nowadays because it's so complicated in contrast to what is commonplace nowadays. Your usual four piece 'rock band' with horrible vocals, whiny voices singing about their girlfriends, or how they missed the train, or really far too heavy metal in Bminor with incoherant vocals being dribbled into a micrphone by someone with fake blood on their face.

It depends on how willing you are to travel here. I have quite a tight schedule, but I'm sure a jam would be feasable. I have access to my college practise rooms, they have smei decent keyboards there, though I don'#t like them (KORG M1, Yamaha multitones), but it'd be interesting.

A year wont get you anywhere. I've been at this for 3 years and ive got 2 or three more ahead of me before I go into the real world

I start September, hopefully anyway.
