I plan to get those ROM boards for my K2600. What I rally want to get and use is the Vintage Keys ROM and the Orchestral ROM.
Reading the Program list of the Contemporary ROM doesn't make me go crazy for it, but it is needed for installing the "Best of VAST" Objects and I can get a set of ROM1&2. So my question is: Will those BOV/ROM2 presets blast my ears or can I save the bucks for ROM2 and just go whith ROM1&4?

I think the Contemporary ROM is essential to most Kurzweil owners. The BIG majority of the sounds and keymaps I used came from that ROM block. I'm not crazy about the programs either, but the keymaps and samples really add to the overall sound of the board.

Well, actually, I like the clavinets from the contemporary board... with the release samples they are quite fun to play. Some percussion are good in the live mix. I would say, with the ROMs 1-4 you do nothing wrong.
