I'm beginning to incorporate soft synths into my live performance. I'm looking for some opinions on the best audio interface to use for live perormance. I'm looking at the Motu 828s, but I'm reading mixed reviews.
Thanks,
Mark

I use a MOTU Ultralite and have never had any problems with it at all. You may also want to check out the Digidesign MBox 2 Mini, which gives you 2i/2o functionality with a free copy of Pro Tools LE v7.4 (though it will also work fine with other DAWs and VSTi hosts).

I have a cheapass EMU 0202 .. works great for me.. But ofcourse, if your budget gives access to more expensive and better models.. Please. Pick one of those!

I'm getting an OZONIC from M-Audio pretty soon

you say you're going to start using SoftSynths, this is a MIDI controller AND a FIREWIRE Audio Interface device.
I'm excited about getting it. Don't let the retail price scare you away, it is considerably less on eBay or at SamAsh.

M-Audio Delta 1010 - they're getting cheaper and cheaper since they require a PCI interface card instead of Firewire/USB, but the fact that they are PCI makes them the best choice for softsynths since they have virtually no latency issues. The 10 ins/outs don't hurt either.

In my rack I have a M-Audio Solo Firewire audio device. Never failed me.....I'm using Abletom Live as a host to samp[les, sequences and softsynths...so far so good!

Can I use the interface as my main mixer, or do I still need an external analog mixer as well?
