Hello all,

For all the K2600 users out there.

I am wanting to control the Rotary (Fast/Slow) button in all my KB3 programs with a footpedal, instead of having to take a hand off the board and push it.

I have looked through the MIDI control setup and have found no way to set the button to the pedal. I have also checked the included reference and guide manuals to no avail.

If any other K2600 user knows of a way to do this, I would thank you greatly.

-Thanks guys

I started a thread on this earlier, but I had no responses. But, after fooling around I figured it out. Now, this may not be the only way, but it works. I didn't figure it out right away, but it was a progression of trial and error.

Select an organ patch and assign it to a setup. Then go to the FXFUN page. You'll notice there are 4 FXFUNs for the KDFX program.
FFUN1. ON
FFUN2. SOFT - Sample B on A
FFUN3. SOST
FFUN4. OFF

Also, note on the FSWTCH page,
FtSw1. Sustain
FtSw2. SOST
FtSw3. SOFT
FtSw4. Setup Increment (that's how i switch setups with another pedal)

I originally assigned the FXFUN3 to the sustain pedal and whenever I pressed it, the rotary came on. But, as you can see it's not very flexible. It's difficult to play organ, while sustaining, right. So, I inserted a pedal into FtSw #3, which is the SOFT pedal I believe. The way FXFUNs equations work, especially with the SAMPLE B on A, it acts like a switch and will toggle the rotary. And voila, rotary with a foot press.

Or you can do this;

Import the KB3 organ you want to use, and import the effects as well. Then go to footswitch page and assign the pedal you want to control the leslie with, to number 68 (legatoSW or something) Now you should be able to control the leslie with your pedal;)

Liquid... that doesn't work. Controller #68 is for LegatoSW and #67 is Soft Pedal. These are basic piano controllers, along with the Sostenuto. Rotary is an EFFECT and separate from the controllers listed above. If that was the case, you should be able to add a rotary to any sound, regardless of the KDFX assigned to it.

Anyway, I tried assigning FtSW to various controllers and the rotary didn't work.

So, for Setups it works as following:

Rotarycontroll for VAST-Organs:

For the Footswitch
Controller: #1 (Modwheel)
Switchtype: toggle
On Value: 127
Off Value: 0

Rotarycontroll for KB3-Organs:

Set the right MIDI-Channel
Import FX from the corresponding Program!
Set the Sliders to the default MIDI-settings
Set the Buttons to the KB3-Layout (Common > Mutes : KB3 Control)
For the Footswitch:
Controller: #67 (SoftPd)
Switchtype: I'm not sure... try it.
On Value: 127
Off Value: 0

This should do it.

Yes, I know, the soft pedal is a piano thing. Anyway, when MIDI was defined, they didn't think about the K2600, that was invented roughly 20 years later. For piano sounds, this is the soft pedal, for KB3, this is the control for the effect. You could reprogram it, but what for, if it works?

Best regards

If you plug in a pedal into FtSw#3, which is the Soft Pedal assigned, you will get the rotary leslie effect for your organs. But, you must import the FX assigned to that program patch.

But, try and go to the FXFUN page edit the FXFUN which has the Soft pedal assignment, just turn it off or even reassign it to your sustain pedal (Hit Enter & Pedal same time). Watch what happens!
