I'm finally getting some more free time and need to start back on that album project which has been languishing for months. I need some help with the morf function on my JP8000 - Georges.

Specifically, how to assign velocity to a number of destinations at once, such as envelope depth and decay time. It would have been SO much easier if Roland had just given us the parameters to mess with in a menu, grr. Even if I get something like an Alesis Ion or Nord Modular, I want to incorporate the JP in my music, as it has a distinctive sound. But I don't want to be stuck with any programming limits either. As you know, it has a lot to offer, and I intend to wring everything I can out of that beast.

Thanks in advance to everyone's replies.

Morph function on the JP-8000 ? As far as I remember, only the JP-8080 has a morph function, which allows to go from one sound fluently into the other.

However, I also remember that, on my JP-8000, I could assign many different parameters to one controller at the same time. For example, on the ribbon I could set it in such a way that it modified various parameters in the same time. The only type of parameters which typically do not work are waveform changes, filter changes, etc.

Simply assign each parameter after each other, i.e. first assign parameter A, then assign parameter B, always to the same controller. That should work, unless that for Velocity Roland set a limit to one parameter. Anyways, the kind of parameters which probably will not work are certainly the same as named here above.

Another feature which may probably help you as a replacement is the motion feature...

Dunno about morphing, but that feedback oscillator tied to the ribbon ... sounds sweet! It's a uniquely JP sound. All the best and don't forget to share your stuff with us.
