I bought an expenisve expression pedal; the BOSS FV-500L (http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/FV-500L/index.html) but it won't work with my K2600. I've heard before that some pedals don't work with kurzweil, but that seems strange to me because it's just an expression pedal, no effects etc.

Someone knows this problem?

Thanks

Try to set the Knob at the left side of the pedal zu "Maximum", then it should work.
Oh, and be sure that you are using a stereo cable and not just mono...

Hope this helps

I've tried turning the knob to the highest level but it still don't work.

I'm using a regular Jack-cable, how do I check if it's stereo or mono?

Thanks

If you take a look at the picture...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/Jack_plug.png
above there is a stereo cable....
Your cable should look like this, otherwise it is a regular mono cable.

The one I'm using is the lowest one in the picture. I'm pretty sure it's a mono cable.

But why doesn't it work with a mono cable?

Thanks

I don't know. I'm not such a technician guy:wink:
It's a little bit strange because the foot switches from Boss work with a mono cable.
But buying a stereo cable should fix your problem...

Before buying this cable I'd like to know why the pedal will work with a stereo and not a mono cable. My Footswitch Boss FS-5U works fine with a regular mono cable, but I guess thats not the same.

Man I hope I don't have to buy a new one.

inside the expression pedal is a potentiometer, which has a 3 lead pinout (I think it's +, -, a varying Ω). All three are required to work properly, so a 2 conductor cable (standard mono) will never work. All expression pedals (even my cheap $15 M-Audio one) use a stereo cable (3 conductor).

A footswitch is a simple on/off operation, which is fine for a 2 conductor cable.

Read the instruction manual, it also recommends that a Stereo 1/4" Phone Plug is needed to use as an Expression Pedal.

This thread kind of explains the details of inner connections.
