ME!! Choose me !!

Well, what do you want to know about it? Then I probably can give specifics. But for now, I can tell you, Forte was my best investing of money ever. It's really flexible and fast. And you can easily do splits and other more advanced programming.
You can connect other midi-gear to your computer, and control it via Forte (to acomplish that you need to buy a plugin (sorry forgot name))
Forte fullfills almost all my expectations, one of the only cons is that you can't use it as VST in a DAW.

Kind regards,

I am also experimentaly using it, although, as opposed to other users on brainspawn forum (www.brainspawn.com/forum), I would not rely on it for live usage, at least not yet. Mark Kelly from Marillion, however, uses it extensively. For VST live, it's the best solution ever!

Rock on,

I haven't done any live keyboard playing for over a year now, but when I did play out with Forte I found it to be as solid as it gets. It's an awesome platform - a bit quirky, but once you get it down, it's about as flexible as anything out there. The fact that you can get a usable patch hold from it is my favorite part.

The plugin for external hardware control is called EhCo. I'd buy a copy if I still gigged - you can pretty much use it to turn Forte into a control setup for your whole rig.

I´m starting to use it and I must say it´s a marvel!, the fact that you can combine several vsts in a single patch is wonderful, and also that it freezes the one´s you´re not using is amazing. My plans are to use it to play live for sure, with a Presonus Firebox and a Dell Inspiron 1420, 2gb ram, core2duo of 2.0. Still have to do a lot of programming but if it works I´ll be selling my K2600r very soon hehe.

take care

I've been thinking about going the VST route for gigging live and that got me between the Forte vs. NI's Kore. I don't know wich one is better and wich one will suit me best :(

For example, a big question I have is I know that in Kore I can switch my presets with a control pedal just like I do with my keyboard, can I do this in Forte? If so, how do I go about programming it?

That's is something that I need to do, switching programs and setups , with a control pedal, but I also need make amazing layers, and a thing that I hope to do is combining vst's with hardware kurzweil sounds, like a layer in which the right hand plays a piano from the kurz and the left hand an awesome absynth sound. If NI Kore or Brainspawn can do that , then I just have to figure out which one is cheaper

Forte can do this with the ehco plugin. You basically set it up in forte like you would any vst, except you set a midi channel, patch info, etc, and then you can just go through and route the midi to the right side of the keyboard like you would with a softsynth.
