Pitch Axis Theory

Hi dude,

I would be very intrested in this technic but I'm not understanding how it works
and how I can use it.
Well, as i could understand the base of this teory is: upon each grade of the scale I should use a specific chord and a specific scale related to the grade( is this right?), so if my root is the D , and my chord is the Em7 I should use the dorian scale that is the D scale starting from the E. Is this right?

Please men help me I find this techbic very intresting.
