Hello,
I had to replace the battery of the M-256E memory card and put it back on the synth. Sad news, I cannot use the Card at all anymore. I will be more specific.
I have used the CR2016 battery as described on the back side of the Card. Also checked the battery and it's full. I never put the card upside down in the slot, I never put in/out the Card while the JV-1000 was turned ON. Turned the synth ON, pressed WRITE > Card > Int->Card ...there you get the message "INTERNAL->DATA CARD, PRESS ENTER" .. and the next message is "DATA Card Not Properly Formatted. Sure ? [Press ENTER/EXIT]". This is the point that the Card is gonna be formated after pressing ENTER, and that is also described in the SYNTHESIZER MANUAL on page 108. It says "COPY INTERNAL -> DATA CARD. This command copies all the Performance, Patch, and Rhythm Set data in internal memory to a DATA card. * When this command is executed using a new DATA card (or a DATA card that has been used by another device), the DATA card will be formatted (initialized) for the JV - 1000". What happens though when I press ENTER is I get the following message for 1 second "DATA Card Not Properly Formatted", and it goes back to where it was before I pressed WRITE. Tried it too many times, tried everything like Protect ON/OFF or putting another battery also. Looks like there is no other way to format the Card, and looks like the Card is dead.
I also got a question, this card is not a "new DATA card" and it hasn't been "used by another device". Why does it need to be formatted ?
I appreciate any kind of help!
Regards
George
