Why are my VSTi's so quiet?

All my VSTi's have as of today gotten extremely quiet. Too quiet to get anything near a useable signal. I have to crank up my master volume just to hear them =\

All the levels on my card are set right, the outputs are set right, what would be causing them to be so quiet compared to other sounds? Is my card going kaput?

Take a look at a meter in your recording application - is it getting full signal from the VST? If it isn't, there's a problem with the VST output, which would be a setting inside it. If it is, then run through each part of your setup slowly - instrument fader inside your recording app, main fader, set to the correct outputs on your sound card. Windows main volume is set up properly, physical volume knobs on your sound card are up, amps are turned on and up, there're no pads engaged on your speakers themselves?

With stuff like this, you just have to be logical - visualise the signal path in your head, think about where it should be going each time, and then check that that's what's happening.
