Hey guys, I am looking to sell my Korg Karma Music Workstation, and I thought I'd give you folks a shot at it instead of having to deal with the troublesome mess that is eBay.

The current prepal.com value of the Korg Karma is set at $1,256.

I am offering this keyboard for $1,250 for a number of reasons:

1. Joystick -X/+X control is broken - this is generally a $60-70 repair job from any Korg Authorized Service Center. -Y/+Y modulation does work, however. Or if you aren't afraid of opening the board yourself, it is a simple fix.

2. Includes EXB-PCM08 Concert Grand Piano expansion ($99USD retail value).

3. Includes Karma Lab's Chemistry Vol. 1 combis ($50USD retail value) loaded into Bank D.

4. This Karma's EXB-PCM expansion board cover was signed by Jordan during the QR/DT summer tour. Obviously, I am not trying to make money off of Jordan's signature, or else I would be asking for considerably more money. But I thought I'd just make that clear. :P

5. Program Bank C and Combi Bank F are loaded with quality sounds from the ProgSounds (http://www.albertorizzoschettino.com/~progsounds/) library of Korg sounds.

If any of you folks are interested, let me know.

Just FYI, usually if you're selling a product, you don't want it to be broken, or as much in working condition as humanly possible...if it's a simple fix to fix that problem just by popping the hood and doing it yourself, then why don't you just fix it? It would probably help you sell this more than if you had something on it broken, I know I wouldn't buy a keyboard if something was broken on it...just FYI.

It's called "I have a busy life and don't have the time to be messing with an open keyboard". :P

I'm selling the thing as-is, no exceptions. Anyone who works in the keyboard field (Togakure, Mike Martin, Tigerfolly, etc etc), can also confirm that it's a quick/cheap fix. All of the things I'm throwing in for free should compensate for the flawed 'stick.

Shouldn't this be in the gear section??

Gear section? What's that? ;)

Anyway, I've gotten some rather silly/ignorant responses to this post via PM and IM. No, I'm not going to sell this board for $850 just because some guy on eBay (with an auction that still has 8 days left) is doing it. $1,256 is the current used resale value of the Karma. That's what it's averaging for, in -any- sort of trade/auction site. Go to prepal.com (http://www.prepal.com). Get educated. I'm throwing in a few extras, for free. What more would you want?

I'm certainly not going to take a hit by lowering the price of this board to under 1k in order to accomidate the kiddies who need to beg their parents for money to buy a synth. Sorry for going on a rant about this, but if you want something bad enough, you can get a job.

And if the joystick problem bugs you that much, it's easy to just hit the Back button instead of trying to create tension and, as a result, question my credibility. I made it clear that the joystick is not completely functional. If you aren't interested, then don't post anything. :P

Wonderful thing about not being a mod, Rexx. I no longer have to be exactly civil to those who don't deserve it. ;) I wasn't referring to your original post, though, in terms of interest. In fact I was waiting for someone to say OMG SI NOT IN GEAR TLAK!@#$%^ :)

Dude, lighten up :D There's nothing at all vindictive or nasty in the tone of his post as far as I can see, it's just honest! I feel for Scrap totally, I'm sure most of us have had really dumb emails from people and there's nothing more annoying. If I had the money and lived on the same continent, I'd buy it, but I haven't and I don't, sorry!

Thanks, guys. FYI: my e-mail host is down, so I'm not able to send or recieve any e-mail at the moment. If anyone wants to strike up a deal, I'm on various IM services, or you can always leave a PM for me here. :)

Hey,
I can also appreciate not wanting to open the board and do the repair.
I'm a member of the "Very Very Busy Person's Club" (So there are at least 2 of us ! Cheers !) :D That's why I'm selling my JX-3p with a non-working C. Life is short, and when you get busy, it becomes more frustrating trying to do surgery on your board, even minor surgery. Especially if you're not planning to keep it around. I started to do a key repair on my JD-800 (which I'm keeping) and it's so tight in there between the keys, that I decided to go for a full replacement, rather than sweating the details. It just gets too frustrating, and in my case it angers the wife since I end up spending all my time on the silly repairs instead of with the family. (Gigs take enough time as it is) :)
Anyway, that's my 2 cents, I agree with your idea.
Good Luck on the sale !
Chris
