Hello all Kurzusers....

Yesterday we were trying to record a piano line from a MIDI file to play it back on my K2661...

So.... Starting this file caused all the Programs to disapear and I was left with only 128 sounds...no 400s no 500s no orchestral...nor contemporary... everything was down the drain....

So I had to recover everything from the factory flash...

What was done... I entered the List editor and delted all CCs from the startup of the file, and we were able to do it safely.

Did Anyone face this before ??... and does any of you MIDI Wizzzarrzz know what message might cause this reset....

The Midi file was originaly recorded with sonar and sample tank II .

All the Best

The MIDI file probably contained a GM-mode On message in it. I believe it's part of the GM specification. It turns GM mode on (duh) and starting with the K2661 and OS version 4.0 for the K2600, there is now a GM mode. The K2661 comes standard with the GM ROM (the stuff that's in your 400-500). Turning GM mode on toggles the K2661 from the regular program list to only having the 400-500 available, remapped to be 1-127 (GM spec) as well as drums.

To fix the "problem", go to Master Mode and press the GM button, which will bring you to a page to toggle GM mode on and off.

Jesus O'mighty... and I had to reload everything from scratch... it took about 30mn.

Thanks a million Togakure... Really invaluable information.

The usual RTFM thing...Damn... I'm like a book worm when it comes to manuals... but the thing happened like...
Press the REC button... and the sound disappeared so the last thing I've expected was that the file will reset the whole machine.

Anyway  thanks for the advise

wow, thanks. If I ever face this problem. Little question, how many patches does a rom have? So how many ptaches do you have when you have both the Roms, and where are they listed?

On ROM I have the 100s the 400s the 500s the 800s and the 900s...
with Ram full I have all the rest...

and when I faced the problem... they were only 128...

You can check them out on the tutorials page in Kurzweilmusicsystems page.

For someone new to the KurzPlaneterium system it was like a new discovery...
