Does anyone know where those choir patches on the latest Stratovarius album comes from? Can it be from one of the expansion cards for the Roland JV1080?

In the last albums Stratovarius use Real CHOIRS......

However Jens use so much his CPU in studio.....

So maybe....who knows ????

It's too difficult.....but I don't think It's a Jv-1080

Yeah that's pretty much it. Tho he's got some other boards to to go with in the studio, + the expansion boards, external effects etc. :wink:

I'm sure that playing live, his choir sound comes from one of the orchestral expansion card for the JV,
( Jens is now using a JV2080 for his live setup ).

Still, its a mystery to achieve those sounds in a Roland.

There are some decent choir samples in the Roland Session card. And some mellotron choirs in the Vintage card. I'm not familar with the new stradivarius album.

I find the session card sample very useful for large choirs ... they are more "mass choir" than breathy. There's a set of mmhs and a set of ahhs. You can crossfade them for interest.

I'm also not familiar with their new album! - Does Jens' choir patch sound different to the old one?

maJ estY: The choirs on the latest album (Elemets pt. 1) sounds like it could be a real choir. That was my first thought. I know they have a new album that will soon be released, but I haven't heard any samples from it.

There are 2 clips of tracks on the MP3 page of the official Stratovarius website (stratovarius.com I think). I also managed to find a pre-release teaser of 4 tracks on MP3 on Bit Torrent, they sound pretty cool :)

Looking forward to it :) October 27th it's released (my wife's birthday, so I better not forget it ;-))
