Ok, so there are a lot of options for connecting to the PA when you do a live gig. Running a seperate DI (Direct Box) for each Keyboard, or running a submix with stereo, mono, etc. Running your 1/4in output directly from the Keyboards to the house mixer, submixing from a combo amp with built in direct our capability, or even miking your amp like a guitar player. (I actually saw someone mic a peavey kb-300 once !). So hear's my question to all you live players out there ? What's your preference.
Here's how I do it:
All inputs to Behringer Eurorack 16 mixer. Mono out 1/4 from the mixer to Whirlwind IMP 2 Direct box. (1/4inch output side of the DI box goes to channel 1 of my amp) 1 mono send from the Direct box to the house mix. That's it. I'm sure there are dozens of different ways that you connect. So what's your preference, how and why.
Cheers !

At the moment I only have one board. It looks like this:
Kurz L & R Mix outs ---> Direct Box ---> Personal Monitor & PA Systems.

If I had multiple boards, It would pretty much be the same:
Keyboards / Racks ---> Mixer ---> Direct Box ---> Personal Monitor & PA System.

The same. Usually two boards (mono) =>? two DI's => Mixer.

I'm looking around for a tube DI/pre to give some punch. Anybody with recommendations? Frank didn't you get a Focusrite Platinum? Are you using that strictly for mics or for keyboards too?

I have a friend who uses Pre-sonus, but mostly for studio vocal. There's an article that mentions using it for keys.
Here's a link.
