I'm looking for a solid keyboardstand, like the one Jordan uses... The one I have does'nt stand still at all... I just have to touch the keyboard and it will jiggle as hell.... It's not stabil at all... Where do I find this stand??

It's a custom stand, you won't find it anywhere. It was build by "standbuilder" (his nick in this board).

What kind of stand are you using right now and for which board?

Jordan's stand doesn't stay still either, it rotates :)

I use an Ultimate Deltex stand, it's pretty sturdy, although the Apex is better. Neither are ideal for 88-note boards though, being single column stands. I also have a couple of cheapo X-frames for my other boards, they're fine for holding light 61 note boards, but wouldn't want to put anything expensive on 'em :)

I have a heavy kurzweil midiboard on a thin, regular X-stand.. It's not so bad when it's in "sitting-mode", but I've tried to rise it up to "standing-mode", and it was not stabil at all....

You can actually buy a super clamp for the Apex and the large bars for it. (they are about 2x as long as the standard bars). This may help you get the 88key board there. I also saw the Guess Who using 2 apexes side by side to support an 88 key (heavy board).
This is another option.

Then it's enough to get a double x-stand. Forget about a single one, I have my A90 put on one, and even if it's not that heavy it's shaking a lot. But a double X-stand should do it.

acually i've been looking for a stand even silimar to Jordans and my quest has led me absolutely nowhere. But this summer i decided im going to build his stand at a scale size that will be right at my stance when i play. I used some of his old pictures to make estimate measures for all the parts (with a few modifications). I'll post a picture when im done, hopefully the end of summer.
Good luck finding a stand, the Ultimate stands are a good choice but a little exspensive.

Naahh.. I don't know. I have a double X-stand, which I use for practice sessions, and it has no problems holding my K2500X, but it still shakes when playing hard.

I think this is common to the X-stands.

But on the Live Scenes From New York-dvd, Jordan uses a double X-stand for the Kurz. And it doesn't shake. Anybody know which brand that was?

Lyngs: you're right, also an double X-stand will shake a bit. I just took al look at the comon stands, and if you use for example an Apex (I have one) this will shake much more than using an X-stand. The better solutions I know would be an A-frame or a keyboard-table, I personally wouldn't prefer one of those...

I use a stand like Jordan's forst one myself (also built by Patrick), and I can tell you that it's very sturdy. But don't forget one thing: if the people on stage are jumping and the stage itself will shake, then also you're keyboard stand will shake because of it's weight, and even Jordan's stand won't be in place anymore! So there's no need in getting the ultimate-stury-stand

I use a Quik-Lok Z-stand for my Kurz at home and when performing, which is solid as rock and doesn't shake at all, but the downside is, that this stand is very unhandy. :?

"Ultimate" is the company that makes Apex and Deltex.
I recommend the Apex. Mine has lasted a long time and survived a great deal of abuse from load ins and load outs.

Cheers.
