I’m searching for any way to make a program patch to be muted, (in order to control a module), but when I say muted I mean that the synth engine in the triton would not be triggered.
Basically I want a way to only sent the MIDI messages…is it possible?
thanx

Of course it is. You have to be in COMBI mode (I guess you could do that in PROGRAM mode in some way but that's not really smart anyway, using programs is lame lol :D); enter the menu and reach the second line, there should be some kind of MIDI page (well my Triton is locked in the closet so I'm not being really precise), you have to set the single channel (e.g. #1) to EXT if you want to control exclusively a midi device through midi out.
There are two choices for EXT mode, there's EXT with LSB/MSB option and simple EXT, which will send the program change according to the program number on the Triton.
The funniest part is understanding how the midi slave device reacts to the program change; e.g. the JP8080's performances are ordered 1-8. This means I have patches like, um, 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 - 21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28 on the slave device; now guess which program change on the Triton will trigger performance 33 on the slave Roland device ;).
Deceit.

Yeah, ironically enough, using programs is lame, yet the combis rely on programs.

I have a different trick, just go to your GLOBAL page, set Local into OFF, and you're in business! :)
I hope that is what you're looking for..
