Hey,
I am looking for a new (different) board and I am thinking about the Roland vr760. For playing live it looks like it has what I would need for my classic rock cover band. How good does this thing sound? I am most interested in the organ and piano patches.

It's a matter of taste. I don't like the organs (it's like the VK-8) and the pianos from Roland. Don't get me wrong: if someone else plays them, they sound good, but when I'm in front of the board, they don't work. I prefer the boards from Clavia for this task. A downside on the VR 760: you can't play organ with two manuals/drawbarsettings!

Usually, my oppinion is: if you can play piano on the keybed, you can't play organ on it and vice versa and even on the Nord Stage 88 it's quite hard to play really convincing Hammondstyle.

The VR 760 is a good board, but it's not, what suits me best for the things, it's made for... a matter of taste, like I said.

Best regards
