I'm searching for the best keyboard for me and I was looking for something in korg. I went to a shop and I saw the Pa800 at almost 4000$. After I tried it, I found that some things were missing (it was not a 88 note keyboard and it doesn't have hammer action keys).

So I checked on internet for a Triton extreme 88 key and I have been really surprise to find that the price of a Triton was around 2200$. In my mind, the Triton is better than the Pa800 (I can do a mistake... I'm starting in keyboards...) so what are the difference between these 2 keyboards ?

The Pa800 is an arranger keyboard, which means that it has sequencer and can play chords and drums with the left hand and with the other to play the lead melody and stuff like that..Lets say that with an arranger you don't need a drummer or bassist or guitarist. The keyboard can play them like a playback. But it's not a synthesizer. You cannot go deep into sounds and manipulate them as the Triton extreme does.If you want to be a one man band and having something to follow your voice buy the Pa800.If you want to play with sounds and experiment with synth sounds buy a Triton. My advice doesn't go deep cause I don't know many things about arrangers but I hope you got the point.

100% Triton Extreme

Arranger keyboards are not professional instruments IMO - they are toys, very expensive toys btw. I do not recommend it!!! They are made to play for themselves.

While synthesizer/workstations require certain skills, and have everything for music production. Workstation = a complete music production studio.

Thanx man, it really helped me. I'm gonna to buy a triton (well, when I'll have the money... !) cuz I don't really love the felling of arranger... you don't need to do efforts, just play the chord and pratically all is done for you ... !

Well, that's my opinion.

I totally agree with AnatomiC.Arrangers don't have the same sound quality with synthesizers.

I quited liked the organ emulation on the Yamaha Tyros :P

Mind you, there are also synths out there that do it better, for less :D

Trition X, of course, if you want to be a Rocker  , or get into a band

but, you said " I'm starting in keyboards ", so I am afraid you will have a lot of troubles when using the Trition X ... I am sure. So, when the Trition X has sleeped in your bed, why dont you look for a cheap arranger keyboards ?
for example: a second hand Yamaha PSR 3000 ... or Tyros

I am using both PSR3000 and FX. Attention: the styles in arranger are very useful, they can teach you so much, better than you thought about them before, hehe

" Workstation = a complete music production studio " and " Arrangers don't have the same sound quality with synthesizers " as -=AnatomiC=- and keyslord said

anyway, arranger keyboards have something that good for a beginner
