So, maybe it's an wise idea to finally get myself a pair of decent monitors, because the crap I use no is worthless!

I've made some research and I realized a pair of studio monitors would cost me +-900 euros. While there is a super special awesome offer on Mackie live loudspeakers 400w each for 450 euros each.

So - is there any point buying small monitors for my home, while I can get very powerful amps for the same price? (And I need live amps also)
Even if you have an other cheaper option, I still would rather spare this amount of money for live amps.

What advantages do small monitors have over live PA, that's is the question.

If you want to program sounds for liveuse, I'd go with the SRMs. Their resolution isn't nearly as good, as the one of studio monitors, but they react like a PA and that's important, 'cause sounds work completly different in livesituations than in the studio.

Just for fun at home and for some analytical soundprogramming, I'd take the studiomonitors. Who needs 400 Watt for practice alone at home? ;-)

Actually, I was thinking about Mackie Sr1521z: I can buy them for the half of the original price in MusicStore! Radias can wait - this offer can't, because they will raise price back, very soon... I think.
But If I would have to buy monitors for the full price, I would take 2 SRM450.

I was expecting that live monitors would have a lower resolution, but like you said, you will have a much better picture on how it will sound live, so it compensates it.
And after my cheap speakers, it will sound awesome and much more accurate anyway...

Lol - I think all windows in my house would explode, if I would accidentally turn it to max - devastating 130 dB! 110 dB is enough to make you deaf!
