This reminds me of the work of Ellen Fullman (http://www.xirecords.org/xi/109.shtml) (a labelmate of mine on XI Records) and Arnold Dreyblatt's Orchestra of Excited Strings (http://www.myspace.com/arnolddreyblatt), both of whom use self-built instruments of long stretched strings.

The Fullmann's Long Strings is very nice. I like the resonant sounds of those strings... but the Orchestra is simply awesome. Do you have other cool links with similar experiments?

Really cool! It's just that I wanted to hear more of the instrument than the guy speaking about it. They could have added a minute or two with some demonstration or something.
