Hello!! :D

I'm interested in the keyboards below, and I would like to see what owners (and people with knowlegde) of the following keyboards thinks of them:

*Motif ES 8
*Fantom X8
*Triton Extreme 88

1. What made you choose your keyboard?
2. What do you think of it? Is it awesome?
3. What differs it from the others models?
4. What sort of music do you play/compose, and is your keyboard good for that?
5. In which sound-group (piano, strings etc) is your keyboard good, and bad?
6. How well equiped is your keyboard regarding sound-shaping, and program your own sounds? What are the possibilities?
7. What about the sampling possibilities on your keyboard? Does it load samples quick, and does it store lots of them?
8. Does it cost much to upgrade it? New sounds, more memory etc?

I've done some research, and I'm thinking of buying one of those... but can't decide which one. They seem to cover different areas.

My interest is in playing/composing classic, progressive, etc. But I'm not interested in Hip-hop, Techno, House, commercial-pop and that sort of music.
What do you think? What can YOU recommend?

/David

David, you are asking good questions, it would take an hour or 2 to break it down. You should consider joining IrishActs, Motifator and Fantomized since you are collecting opinions. Some of your questions
are about spec ( such as memory) are basic and you can find the answers at the Korg and Rolandus.com.

I am very happy with my Extreme 76. And I am a Roland fan too, with
the Rd 700 and Fantom XR ( Fantom Module)

I came very close to buying the ES Motif last October, then I thought
to wait for January NAMM in So.California to see what was happening.
Obviously Roland and Korg announced great new gear.

Y/R/K all make very fine boards and your $$ is well spent on them.
Buying workstations/keyboards is highly subjective. I find that about
33 % of folks hear what I hear or agree with my preferences. I don't
believe in telling people what to like.

User interface/ease of use is a big factor for me. The Extreme/Triton has the best OS . It loads AKAI perfectly. Adding 96 mg of dimms is cheap-$30. I am comfortable with Roland. I would have had learning curve with the ES, but thats not where I want to put my time. Personal choice on my part.

Good luck on your choices

Thank you very much Greg!

Are there anyone else who want to share his/her opinions?
Any other users...?
