Hi there, just a small question. All XLRF - TRS cables are balanced, by the simple fact of their components (XLR and TRS). In other words, could it be possible that I buy a TRS cable and find out that it is unbalanced?

Another question, when the lenght is specified in 2', what unit is that (U.S.store)? 2 feet? I'm not used to US system.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers

Three-conductor cables aren't necessarily balanced - they have to be wired to use all three wires in the cable. If they aren't, they're not balanced. So yes, it's possible to buy cables that use XLR or TRS connectors that are not balanced. Normally, though, this would only occur if you got an adaptor cable - XLR to 1/4 inch, or TRS to 1/8 inch, for example, in which case, the second live wire in the cable would not be connected. An XLR-to-TRS should ordinarily be balanced, however.

The "single quote" mark in US measurement means a foot. The "double quote" means inches. So 3'6" would be three feet, six inches.

You are very kind, thanks a lot!

I'm considering the HOSA cables, in the sweetwater magazine they appear to be the cheapest compared to Monster and another brand. Hopefully they are balanced.
