mmm that's pretty strange, indeed. Have you saved your setups on blank positions or do you overwritten some stock ones? last time you changed batteries?

I saved my setup sounds on * positions and when I opnened..nothing.Now I make them again and I turned off the kurzweil and when I opened it everything was in its place. But why this happened before? It happened again a day agowhen I saved a control setup and when I opened the synth, it wasn't there.

Does it say 'Battery Low 0.0' on starting up?
Then you need new batteries......
Look in Master Mode.
I believe there is a parameter that says DEMO or USER.
In DEMO it starts up clean everytime (I believe, no Kurz or Manual near me at this time)
Else your Kurz is having random hard resets......

Hey keyslord,
I believe I have the exact same problem. I have to backup every file I modify in case the unit initializes itself (try to check if you get a message during the loading screen). It's really frustrating to lose setups you've put hours to in the making or have a preset system after powering up at a gig! Not only does it suck big time but it also makes the otherwise great synth way more unreliable. I've changed the battery but it didn't solve the problem. I hope that's not the case with your board.
Hang in there, buddy!

Maybe a software update may solve the problem? :P I am going to buy this synth, and things like this gets me pretty nervous. I hope this is not a very common problem.

Don't worry my friend! These things happen and in the best synths like this one!Don't get disappointed! It's a great synth!I think K2600 is the best synth/workstation after oasys I guess...

Yes,you are right! It shouldn't happen to this keyboard. But they make all these synths at china and corea!Goodness gracious! What can I say!Anyway, I will update the software and we'll see :)

Is it setups from an external hard-drive or an installed harddisk? In that case you have to do the same process every time you turn on your keyboard. But you can program it to automaticly load them in right order when you turn on your kurz.

No, I save the setups I make in the kurz.I don't use external hard drive or any disk. But now it didn't happen again!

Well, it happened again. My Kurzweil initialized by itself and I lost my setups again...but I was prepared and I've made a backup before.
