I just wanted to throw this out, but Prophets of War rocks. Holy crap, I mean the whole album is pretty dang good, but Prophets of War is just rockin the whole way through. I think its the first hardcore song by Dream Theater that is in 4/4 all the way through also (no little 6/4 or whatever bars thrown in). I love time changes and all that, but dang, this song is really really really good. Just wanted to thrown that out there.

Question: I'm not sure if I'm correct on this, but I think LaBrie sings something different than whats on the CD insert on Prophets. On the insert, thrid stanza, fifth line, it says "It's time to make a change", but for some reason, when I listen to it, I hear "It's time to make the change". This is at 1:11ish, let me know what you think.

Oh ya, after watching the DVD, the queen "ahh" slide that portnoy does and right after the accoustic part when the feedback comes in, oh dang.

I don't like the song that much. Love the rest of the album though. I don't like the intro and the first verses, but after that it's great. Good riffs, great chorus, the chants are cool.

And JLB never manages to sing the correct lines. He's Canadian :P

On the line "Debate this fight it's just cause", he sounds like he's saying "Debate this f****t's just cause". Not sure if I can say the word here, and I won't anyway, but that's what it sounds like!

Honestly I love this song too, both lyricaly (is that a word??) and musically (and no, I don't beg to differ  )!
I 'm really digging those MP vocals too .

@Blob: Yeah right, like you can understand what Americans say  ...

I have to disagree with you here... I really don't like this song very much. The lyrics are pretty good, but it seems like DT are trying to sound like Muse again a la Never Enough, but it's even more obvious this time. I mean, fine once, to try something out, but to change style so much for one song on the album is crazy. I mean, it's got the disco beat, some of the same vocal style, and the arpeggiated keys for a lot of it.

It's ok to wear your influences on your sleeve, but to make one song on the album "The Muse Song" on two albums in a row is just odd. I'd much rather DT stuck to what they know and are good at.

That said, the rest of the album is great, ITPOE is a masterpiece and I love Forsaken.

IMHO ITPOE are the best songs of the album followed by Prophets of War

Damn... I really fkin love this album. Sorry about what I said before, Constant Motion is amazing and The Dark Eternal Night is just genious..
And above that,, Octavarium is a damn hard album to improve.. This is my 3rd favorite DT Album!

Foresaken I do like a lot too.

IMHO, PoW doesn't sound that much like Muse. Appart from the intro synth sound maybe, I can't really hear Muse in it - and I can assure you I'm a pretty big Muse fan. Feels more like Queen-meets-DT music to me, but that's just my 2c.

I like it as well. Every time I hear it now, though, I think about JLB singing it like he did in the DVD.

~Premetheus

P.S. JLB not singing the right words? Well, as long as we're not "laring one eternity" I think it's okay.

I don't know so much, but some jokes are not funny here.
