I thought I read somewhere that he said he would use it.. I may be wrong though...

I remember some of us thought he used it in the "Obsessive yearning, Compulsive burning" part of Constant Motion, but after all it wasn't that at all!

So does he use the board in Systematic Chaos? I listened to the album a couple of times, but sometimes I happen to not notice the obvious.

In In The Presence Of Enemies Pt II I think he is doing the bit just before the choruses "My soul is yours dark master, I will fight for you" and "It's time for your reckoning". Not 100% on that, but it sounds like him

Watch of a of his VP550 clips to familiarize yourself with the sound it produces and then listen to TMOLS . You will definitely hear Jordan there.

Lol, Jordan was already "one man orchestra" in dream theater, and now he is also "one man choir"

I used it for some of the additional vocal textures on the album.
I did not use it for any words or anything, just to get some more full choir effects
in some of the larger orchestrated sections, like in Ministry and Forsaken.
I used a lot of Radius on the album as well!

Awsome, those extra VP-550 tracks added more than just texture! It the large orchestral sounds with choir and things are extremely full and huge! it added a whole new sort of control or timbre in your orchestral sounds! Excellent sounds...

indeed, your performance on the radias was very cool! The whole album itself was done so well! May i ask, how do you like the memotron? and also how often did you use that cool mono evolver synth? I can definately pin point some of its fantasic sounds as well...

from what i've read it sounded like the VP550 is gonna be on his next solo album. i wonder if he'll take it out live though to help with all the cool vocal stuff done on SC.

You must not have seen the making of DVD yet then. He uses it for the first keyboard "solo" in In The Presence of Enemies Part I, and boy does it sound awesome!! And of course in other songs on the album as Jordan stated but I can't identify any others.

I also see you used a fantom x8 for the organs. Good man http://www.imbruglia-inside.com/smiley_thumbsup.gif

There appears to be confusion as to whether it's the radius or radias. Here's a picture of the radias:

However, upon searching for radius, the same thing comes up.

My guess is it's actually called the KORG Radias, but it's not pronounced like that, ray-dee-ass. But moreso ray-dee-us. So it's more commonly spelt that way, hence Goggle corrects me to radius since it's what people type more, moreso it's what its reffered to as. Wrong, but that's how it's pronounced, and we spell things phonetically by nature if we can't think of the correct spelling.

However, Jordan, you are very much involved with KORG. They'd be ashamed of you

You are right- of course -it is the RADIAS!! (not the Radius.)
That's what happenes when type these responses late at night.
Thanks for clarifying.

JR
PS- hopefully I play it better then I spell it!!

But Jordan, I think it would be amazing if you used it live to actually do the lines of like "my soul is yours now dark master, I will Fight for you" and the wispered "forsaken". Seriously, I think it would add a lot of great effect on the whole band!
