Fair price for recording?

I have come across a hand-written score for a song that I may end up being asked to produce/perform/program a recording of. If anyone could give me an idea of what a fair price to charge and/or what a "professionally" produced song would cost for something like this I would greatly appreciate it.

Some people would do it for free - just for experience and fun.
Other people, would ask a little bit more money...
There are also some people, that only few can afford...

It depends on your skills, fame, gear, customer and time.... and much more...

So only you and your customer can answer this question - find a price that will satisfy both.

Thanks for your input. And while I agree with you it's hard to gauge what is fair without anything to subjectively compare it to.
I would certainly not want to overcharge or accept an amount of money over what would be prudent for my skill/lack of fame/gear etc.
Plus I figured that this would be a good topic to discuss...
