Finally got my piano lessons. I don't think I've ever been that bad on keyboards, but I have a very low self esteem. Hopefully this'll bring'er back up a bit.
Plus, I'll finally play on weighted keys, and I'll probably buy a weighted keyboard aside for practice.
I start on Friday and I'm excited.
Now I wish I had an idea on how to open this thread but...

Dude - good choice with getting the lessons! You may be able to play stuff just from watching videos and reading internet tutorials, but there's no real substitute for a real, in-the-flesh teacher.
Good on you, dude :)

+1111111111...Good for you!
Just a thought, dont be put off if your teacher takes your technique apart. I recently changed teachers, from a private tutor to the tutor my college suggested (a former concert pianist from London), and even though ive had lesson from day 1, ive been shown that i never even learnt how to count in time, hold my hands and fingers properly and even play 3 to 2 rhythms properly....
But you can only get better once you know whats wrong! so stick with it! and good luck.

Sounds nice.

agreed.
Maybe you would feel it's hard to play legato for a while.
But there's nothing to lose if you would take piano practices.
Good luck!

So did everyone when they started - give it six months, you'll be rip roaring those chromatics ;)
