Hey, i just started piano not too long ago. so far its been hella-fun. but anwyays, im a regular over at the petrucci forum.

i do have a question tho, im having trouble, i cant seem to grasp the technique of playing two seperate melodies at once. is this just a skill developed over time? or are the any excorsises i can do?

also, how do i turn the IMG code on? i gotta have my sig:D

oh really, you got to join the online conservatory of jordan rudess then. There are enough excersises there to improve your technique! It's highly recommendable ;)

Welcome Shredimaster.

I browse the Petrucci forums regularly, but i am not a member.

Building up left and right hand co-ordination takes time. You should start slowly practicing with each hand separately first, and when i say slow, i mean SLOW. bend the finger.

I swear by doing the Hanon technique book. But i wouldn't recommend it to a beginner as it requires some exist skill.

BEND THE FINGERS. Cannot say it more, playing should come from the fingers, and not from hands (though some later techniques later need arm and wrist, but normal play is all fingers).
