All: tomorrow, I'm going to be interviewing Jordan for Tokafi (http://www.tokafi.com), the online experimental and classical music magazine. Since I'll be interviewing him anyway, Jordan suggested that we open this up to the forum members as well.
So we're asking that forum members post questions they'd like to ask Jordan here in this string. We'll put the best ones to Jordan tomorrow, and publish the whole thing here soon afterwards.
The interview will take place Thursday morning at 9 AM Eastern time, so you have about 24 hours from now to submit your questions. Have at it.

Questions:
How has the Continuum Fingerboard changed the way you write your parts and perform for both Dream Theater and solo projects?
Outside of music, what else do you enjoy doing in your free time?
During your lifetime, what would you label as the biggest evolution in music and the music industry?
How do you go about writing music for your solo projects (what is the process - is it the same as Dream Theater)?
Would you advise all musicians to learn some form of classical music no matter what genre they are pursuing? Why?
Who is your favorite classical composer? Why? How has he influenced you music?
If you were stuck on an island and there was only one type of music (hard to imagine, haha), what would you choose: prog rock, classical, or something else? Why?

i have been meaning to send this to him in an email, reluctant to ask on the forum, but i havent really gotten around to it, and this seems like an opportunity to ask. i'm not sure how appropriate it is for the magazine article you are interviewing him for, but this is something i've wanted to know from him and other artists i admire.

Questions: In your experience, how have you seen music as therapy, as a method of healing (for you as the artist or for listeners).
Have you ever experienced occasions where yourself or others have been "healed" spiritually, mentally, or even physically with the help of listening to music?
I'm sure it's all very subjective, but do you think there is any type of music that might be more effective than others at this?
I think they all have qualities to them that could raise a persons spirits in some way or another. From the relaxing music of ambient artists or jazz, to energetic music from Dream Theater or other great rocking groups, or even steady beats and grooves from modern electronic artists, i think it all can serve this purpose.
I've checked out your album, "Resonance", because I read you made it for a friend who was in the hospital as healing music. I'm wondering What, if anything in particular, do you think makes good healing music? How did you approach making music with this in mind?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm really interested in learning more about this. I've always had a passion for music, but have also always wanted to go into medicine. Recently I've been thinking of blending the two and am trying to learn more on how i could do this.
i know right now in the medical field, the concept of musical therapy isn't really that widely used or taken that seriously. but i'd like to change that, and hope to expand the current practices with healing music. for me, seeing a live show of a band i really like changes me somehow. it makes me feel better, reduces my stress, gives me some sort of energy. i've been wondering what effects music could bring to people who are weak due to various illnesses (physical or mental) and thought Jordan might be able to shed some light on it.
I'd like to ultimately try starting some kind of foundation that organizes around these ideas. maybe one that distributes CDs to hospitals, puts on annual concerts, or distributes concert tickets to patients so they can experience the power of a great live show of someone they admire. i don't really know how to get started though.

Just to be clear, these questions aren't for the article - they've already been provided. These are just open to forum members, for publication on this forum.

ah, i see.
i've also always wondered if Jordan always wanted to be a professional musician and always planned on it or if there was something else he was torn between fully pursuing. i wonder what advice he may have for someone who does feel torn sometimes between fully pursuing music as a profession and fully pursuing something else. was there ever a point where you were like "ok, now i definitely know this is where i ought to be and this is what i want to do for the rest of my life"?
aside from having thousands of shows behind you to work with, how do you go about easing your nerves during or before a show so you can stay focused, relaxed, and in it for the show?

Here are my questions.
?-1: Do you have any ambitions, for instance, like creating an epic for musical or opera?
?-2:anything to do for your luck right before the shows?
?-3:anything in particular for your health especially getting over jetlag on tours with schedules shoehorned?
?-4:Would you tell me remarkable or favorite musicians in the world of classical music or hard rock / heavy metal if you come up with?
Thanx.
What are you thoughts on next generation of young and upcoming keyboardists/pianists????

A little late but here are some anyway:
- How useful do you believe is a degree for a musician nowdays? Obviously lessons are needed for everyone, but do you think that a degree really is of any use - teaching aside of course - to musician?
- What are your thoughts on music downloading? Do you believe in the current DRM-model, have you looked at any alternative solutions (i.e. ad-supported free music downloads) and what impact do you believe it's going to have in the music sales - the way the artist interacts with it's listeners in the future?
- What would you like the synth of the future to have - how do you imagine the ideal synth for you?
