Yes, although you're gonna have to read the manual, probably! The first thing to do is make sure the Proteus is set (on the Midi menu) to Midi Enabled, and Receive Program Change to on for whichever channel (s) you're using. Probably an idea to make a note of the SysEx device ID in case of it not being set to 0 (or set it to zero!).

To change the patches, you need to send patch select commands, probably coupled with a bank select command, from your controller. I don't know how to do this cos it's part of your controller setup, not your Proteus setup. However, what you will need to know is that the patches are arranged in banks of 128 patches (000 to 127) and the bank is selected by a combination of the MSB and LSB (most- and least- significant bits). To find out these, the quickest way is to press the Audition button on the Proteus, as they are displayed on the top line. The LSB is easy, cos that's just the bank number (0, 1, 2 etc - up to 7 in your case with the CMPSR soundset). The MSB is gotten by knowing which soundset is in your board... user presets are easy, cos the MSB is 0... but the CMPSR ROM (the factory default presets on the Proteus 1000) has an MSB of 4.

You should then be able to configure your controller to send these bits of information to the Proteus, and it *should* then change to the required sounds... may take a bit of tweaking though :)

Hey, no problem, you're most welcome :) E-MU manuals are generally excellent, but a lot of the modules only come with a printed out quick-start guide. You can download the full manual from http://www.emu.com/support/files/storage/P1KOp-B.pdf. I'd be interested to hear what you think of the M-Audio board as and when you get it :)
