I'm starting to add some PDFs to my site. I have'nt linked them from the site yet, but I've uploaded some test PDFs to get some feedback. My notation is a little rough, but I just wanted to check if this is what people want. I tried included the fingering numbers (worked out from the way I play it, so not sure if they are the best fingerings). I'm thinking at this stage to probably eventually try to tab out entire songs with fingering where I can (or get other people to help), and try to include notes on the notation about instrument setups and such (patch types etc).

you'll have to paste them into the adress bar, since they don't seem to work when I make them links

blobvandam.webpal.info/pdf/pull_me_under.pdf
blobvandam.webpal.info/pdf/sacrificed_sons_(piano).pdf
blobvandam.webpal.info/pdf/the_root_of_all_evil_(main_riff).pdf
blobvandam.webpal.info/pdf/these_walls_(intro_synth).pdf

What I'll probably eventually do is try to have at least something from every DT song and just list them by album.

Awesome - I've been looking for pdfs of DT songs for ages, and if you're going to start hosting some on your site that'd be fantastic, especially if you extend it to complete songs. I've had enough of spending hours with a midi file trying to extract the keyboard parts and make it vaguely readable.

If you need any help - I've made myself complete pdfs of Strange Deja Vu, Surrounded and Root of all Evil, so let me know if you want me to send them to you (I'm more than happy for you to host them if you want). They've got all the patch changes, and they're hopefully fairly easy to read and accurate. I've also made myself full pdfs of Gibberish by Spock's Beard (with all the vocal harmony parts) and... erm... the Final countdown by Europe...

I've got quite a few others on the go at the moment as well, including paradigm shift and dance of eternity... although I might take a while with that one! But good stuff, I'm definitely in favour of pdfs rather than midi files.

You didn't by any chance use my transcription of The Final COuntdown for your pdf did you?
If you've created any songs yourself that you want me to stick on my site, just send them to me. I'll take anything for my site, as long as you entirely made it yourself of course! Seeing some other examples will help me make mine better too. I definitely plan to convert all my current midis to pdfs. I want my site to be the only source anyone needs for Dream Theater keyboard playing. I'll probably have both midi and pdf so people can at least listen to see if the transcription is accurate sounding. I have great pride in how nice some of my finished midis sound!

Wow thanks man, ive also been looking for PDFs... i dont properly have a midi player (only guitar pro, but its a demo... the thing is that when you print the words demo version obstaculize you from reading some parts). ah also i wanted to say that some midis i got from your page they seem to have something in the left hand, but it doesnt appear, why? is it the player i used?

Thanks
Gustavo

Ok - I've sent the 5 pdfs ive done to Blob, so hopefully they'll be helpful to someone. I'm sure there must be some other people with scores they can convert to pdfs out there - we can probably easily get a decent sized pdf library going just from people on the forum!

Oh, and I think it was probably your final countdown midi I used for the pdf

Thanks for that. I'll add them to my site. And the FInal Countdown one is from my midi. I know my own handywork ;)
Don't know how long it will take to add them, because I want to redesign the page before I add pdfs so that it's a bit better organised.

Sorry, I haven't. I hope nobody gets too impatient, but I have been working on something big (a 3D video) that has taken up all of my time. Hopefully I can give more news on that shortly, along with adding the pdfs to my site.

/bump

We've had a lot of requests for sheet music lately and a site where we can host them all would be really helpful - don't want to rush you but I'm sure it'd be really appreciated (now you've finished your awesome animation!)
