Good evening!

I'm thinking about buying a used K2500X...
I've looked at one, and it got KDFX and was loaded with 128 mb ram.
The guy wants 2150 Euros for it. Is this resonable?

I talked to Dave (Enigma) and he told me about this, http://www.sweetwater.com/feature/freeshipping.php... a K2600X for the same price!
How can there be such a difference? Is a used K2500X really worth this much? The K2600X has got KDFX and the Piano-Rom...

It would be nice if you guys could tell me how much you've paid for your "used" Kurzweils... if you don't mind. And when you bought them.

Since I live in Sweden, I'm not sure about shipping and stuff.
I'm not sure about buying over the internet, with that amount of money.

So, has anyone bought anything from Sweetwater, or heard anything about them? Any thoughts....?
Or could you recommend another company?

I could need any help!

Thanks!

/David

In some ways synths are like computers. I bought my new K2500XS for about $3000 USD about 3 years ago. I've since purchased about $1000 worth of upgrades. I'd feel lucky if I could get $1500 to $2000 for it (It's not for sale). YOu can do a search on ebay to see what past items sold for. I searched ebay for completed sales for K2500XS and found that there was at least two of them with more than 20-30 bids, sold by reputable stores, that sold for about $1000 USD. They probably didn't have the KDFX or expansion ROMs.

Sweetweater, as far as i know, is a good and efficient vendor. I've just bought a used K2500X with KDFX, K2600X keys, 128Mb ram, piano and contemporary rom for about 1800€ plus delivery... btw i suggest you to think about a K2600X for the same price.

see ya

I 2nd Sweetwater. They seem like a good company. They really have a strong focus on sound equipment. Once you order something from them, they start sending you these really nice catalogs. The catalogs are very dangerous to the pocket book. You could also take a look at Musician's Friend. If you live in a big enough city, you'd probably be better off with a local music store.

Good luck with your puchase, John.

PS - K2500X is a great instrument, but try to get a K2600X if you can. If your on a budget, you could probably get more bang for the buck finding a used loaded K2500XS.

I couldn't wait until the prices dropped on the K2600xs so I bought a used K2500x and expanded it.
Looking at both instruments now I really want a K2600xs!!!
I'm happy with the K2500xs but the K2600xs is more in so many ways.

Long short---buy a K2600x if you can
