Ok, I found these links on the JP forum, it's from Jordans first performance ever as a fill in for Dream Theater, real great quality for it being a 1994 recording, anyways, just click on the links and enjoy :)

Gosh, James sounds so different when he distorts his voice.
And his eyebrows look darker than usual.

Not promoting illegal activities ofcourse, but since it's homemade footage i guess it's just to be approved

I agree. Check out old music videos (Pull me Under, Take The Time) His eyebrows are thicker/darker. Ach.

I remember one show in Japan in which JM rushed across the stage, jumped up onto the stack of subs, and rocked out stage left at the end of the show. Stnading on the speaker stack. I guess you just have to catch him on a good night.
Anyone remember the infamous "tackling James" incident?

I could be wrong, but isn't this just after James' ruptured vocal chord thing? could explain the growl and overall lower timbre of his voice. Although Awake was all about James adding the growl to his voice.
Wait...just heard him say Awake hadn't come out yet...then it's pre-rupture.

Yeah, proper good vids! I posted them on JP forum after finding them on MP forum. Id give anything to hear the recordings of all the keyboardists that tried out after KM left. Apparantly the band were amazed by Rudess' take on the Take The Time solo- id love to see what sort of competition he was up against!

I wonder who else tried out besides Jens Johansson and Derek Sherinian.

Well, i think Dave Rosenthal tried too.
He also programmed some of the keyboards sounds we hear in A Change Of Seasons.

My mistake ... Rosenthal says he was asked to become a DT member, but Mike Portnoy says he was not...
