Hi gang,
Do you live near New York City?
Do you want to have your voice on the new Dream Theater CD?

If so, I'm looking for a group of about 30 or 40 people to do some "chants" for a section of one of the new songs...and I figured it be fun to offer the job to a few lucky fans!

Here's the deal:
At 2pm this Friday January 26th, we will let a group of you into the studio to do some yelling for us...

The place:
Avatar Studios - 441 W. 53rd St (between 9th & 10th Ave)

The time:
We will open the doors around 2pm.
**DO NOT** arrive any earlier than 1pm which is when the line will form....
(fans arriving earlier than 1pm will not be permitted to line up outside)

Depending on the turnout, we cannot guarantee entry to everybody.
It will be based on first come, first serve.

You will be needed for no more than an hour, so you will be able to leave by 3pm.

**DO NOT** bring cameras or recording equiptment....any found will be held at the reception desk while the session takes place.

You have the coolest bandmate in the world. I'm not just talking about his drumming skills, I'm talking about the incredible person he is.


Well, I'm sure that Mike told you what happened. If not, here's what happened....
So we were supposed to start lining up at 1pm. I wound up getting there at 12:15pm to a long line. About 70 people. I wanted to get there earlier, but I live in Bayside, and you know how hard it is to get into the city...yuck.

So anyway, around 12pm, they had given out the 50 envelopes with the lyrics. I didn't get one unfortunately, and about 20-30 people also didn't get one either. It was very depressing.

I cannot tell you what went on inside, no more than I have heard from friends. Outside...well, we were sad, but trying to keep hope that MP would come outside, or we'd be able to go inside and meet him.

And you know what happened?
He came outside to apologize to us! I asked if we could take a picture with him, and he said yes!
It was so nice of him to do so!

Oh, and the outside people...we saw James and chatted with him for a few minutes!

I'm sorry, I forgot to post what Mike did for me...
I took some really good pictures of him at Amazing Journey last year here in NYC. My friend bought them to show Mike, and he autographed one of them for me! Also, my friend told him how again (my friend told him at amazing journey I had missed him then too) I was outside and had missed him, so Mike gave him the new International Fan Club dvd to give to me! I'm so happy about that because I could not re-new my fanclub membership this year. Jordan, you are so lucky to have such an awesome bandmate!

man, friday is like the 1 day of the week I have any free time before 5:00 pm ... if I had known about it a day or two earlier I could have figured it out... oh well ... can't wait for the new album/next tour!! (and can't wait till I get a car so I can stop missing all these awesome NYC events...)

How was it set up then?

DT in one room & all the others in another recording section but with in line of sight? Anyone tone deaf? Were they allowed to keep the sheet's of paper? Good atmosphere? Was Burt there?:cool:
