It's real, and in fact very much a true existing product. It's a PC (with AMD Athlons) running Windows XP with a shell software (developed by Open Labs) with a keyboard. And why do you think it's too good to be true, did you look at the price?
For a hardware module that lets you use software VSTs, you may want to check the Muse receptor.

Wow that looks really cool! Maybe Mr. Rudess will replace the OASYS with this, lol I doubt that, but wow it has a full QWERTY keyboard on the side. But are there 88 key hammer weighted versions of this?

EDIT: Wow I just saw this pic of it... This (http://www.ixbt.com/proaudio/namm2006/namm3-openlabs-opensynthNEKO.jpg)

And this is the widest keyboard I've ever seen, and it looks ugly.

The Neko's been around for a while now.. well before the Oasys or Receptor hit the market. It's basically just a PC running windows XP, and it uses a modified version if Brainspawn Forte as its internal synthesis switching engine.

Cool. But too expensive..

Save up a little more and you have an Oasys..

^^Oasys is PC based also and from what I remember the proc. is a P4. So computer-wise the Neko is a lot better. Of course the thing is it uses XP- on which I wouldn't rely as stable- whereas Oasys uses a Korg (linux based, from what I recall) operating system which I 'm sure is definately a lot more stable. Although the Oasys has been made to look more like a hard synth the Neko is nevertheless more expandable. Also, it has been around well before the Oasys came out (as pointed before)

Thought this page is a bit cheeky :

Comparing the lovely OASYS to the new Neko monster (in the true sense of the word !)...

Interesting to know the Neko uses Brainspawn's Forte though...
