Yes,
I also felt as if David/Greg may have been influenced by Jordan. I hear keyboard riffs that sound like Jordan's playing. Amazing !

There are some parts and things that sound really DT. It is a cool song, to hear something more heavier and progressive from Toto, cause they are all great musicians!:)

Yes, I was really surprised to hear such a style from TOTO, but this song and the whole cd rocks totally. The amazing synth work of Steve Porcaro is unbelievable, all these crazy sound effects.
And also great keyboard sounds, too...

Wait 'till you saw this song as the openingtune in the current tour... never got so blown away by them, even not with the intromedley on the 'live in Amsterdam' and i saw some shows of them.

Concerning style: I think, in this musical league, you can play anything. But you have to keep in mind, that it's their first album without the influence of Sony, so they could do, what they wanted to!

Best regards

Steve Porcaro? I thought the keyboard work and effects were all work of David Paich and Greg Phillinganes. I am, however, going to see TOTO live at the 1st April in Italy and I'm already excited. Another live performance including OASYS

Cheers,
Jure

No, most of the synth effects are made by Steve Porcaro, Greg Phillinganes only plays the sounds...
I read an interview some weeks ago, where Greg admitted, that he doesn't build all those keyboard sounds by himself, he only wants to concentrate on playing...

Yeah, I'm going on this year's tour too, April 17th, Toto live in Stuttgart, Germany... But I was also on the Falling in Between Tour last year... and I really got blown away by FiB as opener.
They have such a great sound, perfectly mixed. And listen to that drum sound...unbelievable...

In the linernotes of the CD, it says that this song was inspired by Led Zeppelin.

It doesn't quite sound like DT. It does sound however, more like progressive rock.

Yes, that's it. Dream Theater hasn't invented the sound

Obviously I do ! That's why I made the post to begin with. Simply making an observation. Do you have a problem with that ??? Purely a conversational topic. If you don't agree that's fine, but your "who cares" attitude is a bit rude !
