Ok so are there any bands you listen to but hardly anyone have heard about? Great unknown bands which you think need more attention?

Well I'd have to say the band called Casiopea surely needs some attention. Great Japanese fusion band I just can't stop listening to. They're one of my favourite bands and they become better for every listen :)

Some good videos of them:

Also I reccomend you get the "Casiopea vs T-Square" and "Vintage Live" DVDs, great great lives. Also not to forget, the band Casiopea is playing with on the first live I mentioned, "The Square" or "T-Square", is another of my favourites and also worth listening to!

Tır (http://www.tyr.net) are awesome - they also have a Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/tyr1)

Maybe not really obscure, but bands I really like that a lot of folks haven't heard of include Sonata Arctica (http://www.sonataarctica.info), Kamelot (http://www.kamelot.com), Epica (http://www.epica.nl) and Within Temptation (http://www.within-temptation.com).

A.C.T.

I recommend them all the time.
ACT are amazing - I have no idea why they're not in the mainstream. Their songs are catchy but have a load of interesting stuff going on underneath.

Riverside are another excellent band I haven't heard mentioned much.

Hey i like those bands! (apart from within temptation which i havent heard yet).

I think Gojira, Yakuza and Vanishing Point are good examples of obscure bands???

If I had the extra money I would buy a cd right now & it's rare that I say that about music on myspace!

How about Niacin?

Energetic progrock/jazz fusion trio, with an excellent organist.

In fact, I love everythings musicaly ! I won't try to list the bands and even genre that I love because it will be too long... Yesterday I started to love some groovy rap haha, and now some power metal ! I have no limit for music :)

Chalenge me if you want, but I love just EVERYTHING :D

So I'll listen to everything named above :)

But well...one band that I love and that should be known : Harmonium

They are from Quebec, and they no longer exist :( but that is SUPREME prog music !

I hadn't heard about Hiromi, thanks for the tips, I've heard some stuff now and it sounds promising! Gonna get some of her CDs now!

Also, I forgot to mention the band of one amazing musician and that is Avishai Cohen, I saw him live a few months ago on a jazz festival, and I certainly didn't expect to see such a good unknown band over there when I went over there! He's a double bass player and his music really hit me from the beginning. It was an amazing performance with three outstanding musicians that I will never ever forget. Got 3 CDs of his now and I love them all, but I really gotta get some more!

Hmm let's see if I can find him on myspace...

Oh yes I did, and ironically, the first song "Elli 'Live' in UMEA" is from the live I was at :D Anyways, check him out!

This band is amazing. All are super talented. The bass player, Rob Smith, was my guitar teacher and is one of the best players on the east coast. He's studied with Victor Wooten and the rest of the band is on the same level. If you like funky fresh beats with a rocky sound, check them out!

I don't know about you europeans, but I never heard about Beyond Twilight until a few months ago.... Their last album "For the love of art and the making" is absolutely amazing, the most creative, versatile and impressing metal prog I've heard in my life.... You can't be wrong with that album!

Other interesting stuff, Behold, the Arctopus! (spelling?).
